Being part of the Lucy Rayner Foundation gives Jamie the opportunity to play a key role in raising awareness and providing support to those who need it. He believes the critical work undertaken by the Foundation is, to put it very simply - life saving. Jamie understands that living with mental health issues is something that too many people go through without saying it out loud – he sadly found out the hard way what happens when these things go unspoken, when he lost his best friend back in 2016.
In his own words, Jamie says “I feel so proud and honoured to be a patron for this phenomenal organisation, and truly believe by working together and having these conversations - we can make a difference.”

Karen Acres
Karen is an ordained minister with a counselling/therapy background, who has worked hard within many communities and countries to make a difference, either with fundraising or using her time productively to make sure young people have a voice and a choice in their lives. As the owner of Like2Box Gym in Redhill, it has been important to Karen that females of all ages are given the opportunity to train in what has predominantly been a very male oriented sport. Sadly, sport with the competitive element within it, has also battled raising awareness of mental health and well-being. Whilst fitness is very much the main focus, it is important that we are all aware of the risks associated with the extra pressure young athletes find themselves under.

Daniel Howlett
In 2015 Daniel lost a best friend, James Hamilton, to suicide. Ever since then, Daniel has been working hard to make sure he does the most to prevent this from happening to someone else. He can’t explain the heartache you feel when you lose a friend at a young age of 26 to something that could have been prevented if there was more help available. That is something he'll have to live with forever, and it is what pushes him year on year to keep raising money for mental health charities. The first year after he started fundraising he chose to support a large organisation, however it never felt quite right not knowing where the money was going and who it was helping. The he found the LRF, and for Daniel it was a complete no brainer, as he says "It's incredible what the foundation is doing, all the young people it is helping and all the lives it’s saving. I am so happy to be part of this team and look forward to lots more fundraising as the years go by!"
