Mental Health Courses in Surrey
Here at The Lucy Rayner Foundation, we are at the forefront of educating about mental health. Approximately one in four people in the UK experience a mental health problem every year, and every week one in six people in England report that they experience a common mental health problem like anxiety or depression.
A lack of understanding about mental health disorders means that many suffer in silence or are unsure how to help someone in need. However, we believe things can change for the better, which is why we strive to educate people on various mental health issues to support the young in our society.
Mental Health Training
Our courses on mental health training are available to schools, universities and workplaces to help individuals spot the signs of a mental health condition. Given the number of hours of the day young people spend either at study or work, it is often easier to spot the signs of a mental health problem in a group environment than it is at home.
So, if you know anyone who is struggling or are struggling yourself with your own mental health, you can do something pro-active by getting in touch today.
Mental Health Talks
The Lucy Rayner Foundation Talk
In this 20 minute talk, we speak to companies and organisations interested in making a difference by supporting our charity, through fundraising. During this talk, you can learn more about the services we provide and how Lucy’s story is helping countless young people open up about their mental health difficulties.
lunch and learn
There are many benefits to hosting a Lunch and Learn event at your workplace. Mental health still carries a stigma, which can be especially felt in the workplace. It is not uncommon for people to keep their struggles to themselves, often through fear of being judged or passed over for career progression. However, attitudes are changing and as a company, you can help your staff feel supported and understood.
We offer different packages, from a one-off session to a block of 6. Learning lunches also provide an opportunity to follow up with the trainer about the issues covered.
Mental Health Resilience Workshop
Our half-day workshop helps people learn how to cultivate mental health resilience and provides a platform to discuss what mental health resilience means to them.
Mental Health Awareness Workshop
This half-day workshop is aimed at uncovering the taboo around mental health and helps schools, universities and workplaces recognise the early warning signs of a mental health problem in themselves or in their peers.
