“You may or may not be aware that this week is Mental Health Awareness week and is also an area very important to me especially having had to seek help for my own personal battles but also tragically my brother took his own life in 2019.
I know at the minute we have Covid19 and we’re seeing tremendous efforts in helping the NHS etc, but one of the big issues we’re not hearing about is the rise in poor mental health problems.
Charities such as The Lucy Rayner Foundation need our support more than ever to continue to help people suffering. I’m not trying to raise thousands of pounds but if you could spare £5-£10 that would be amazing. That would help towards the cost of a counsellor or a trained mental health support worker at the end of the phone.
I should have been going to Menorca this week for my 115 mile Ultra marathon so instead I’m going to take on another challenge on Friday. It’s called the 4x4x48 challenge. It involves running 4 miles every 4 hours for 48 hours and at the end I hope to have run 52 miles.

Richard not only completed the challenge, but went on to smash his original target of raising £200, and as of today has raised a whopping £920.
